WSS/Wastewater Treatment Process Engineer

Description

NIRAS is currently looking for a Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS)/Wastewater Treatment Process Engineer, and a team of Senior Experts for the consultancy opportunity in the area of drinking water supply development in Batken, Jalal-Abad, Osh and Issyk-Kul regions of the Kyrgyz Republic. The objective of the project is to (i) increase access to climate-resilient water services in selected river basins; and (ii) strengthen institutional capacity for climate-resilient water management at local and national levels.
The scope of services is divided into three phases:
• Phase 1. Development of detailed design and procurement assistance.
• Phase 2. Construction, Supervision and Maintenance period.

Qualifications required

Only the experts meeting the set criteria will be shortlisted and contacted.

• Design specialist of sewerage facilities should have an international experience
• A university degree (master’s) in Environmental/Engineering or Civil Engineering with a specialization in the water and wastewater sector
• Must be fluent in English
• Knowledge of Kyrgyz and/or Russian language would be an asset.

Professional experience required

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the design of sewerage networks, Sewage pumping stations and Wastewater treatment and disposal facilities.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the design of sewage, wastewater management and sewerage systems in large-scale sanitation and water supply projects and/or 3completed large-scale projects within the last 5 years.
• Experience in CIS countries will be an advantage.

4 man-month input over 30 months (Phase II)
